After the super success of ROWDY RATHORE, Sonakshi Sinha is now ready with JOKER with the same co-star, Akshay Kumar. Incidentally JOKER was the second film that she signed after DABANGG and ROWDY RATHORE came much later. While latter was completed first and hence released soon as well, JOKER is ready to bring on its humour now with some zany narrative expected from second time director Shirish Kunder (who made his debut with JAAN-E-MANN).
"Trust me, he has made a really different film," says Sonakshi in a fond tone, "Shirish is a multi-faceted personality and is known for editing, directing and so many other technical aspects of filmmaking. For me it was a fantastic prospect to work with him as well as Farah Khan."
While the promos have indicated loud and clear that JOKER is indeed different when compared to any other film from past or present, one wonders how Sonakshi reacted to the script when it first came her way. Was she immediately on board or did she take some time to decide. Reason being that this is one film where results are a lot dependent on the VFX which happens post the shoot. Due to that reason, wasn't she apprehensive about how the final product would eventually look like?
"I guess this isn't something that was unique only for JOKER. That sense of uncertainty is there with every film. Before signing a film, you never know what would happen at the end," says Sonakshi, "Same was the case even with DABANGG and ROWDY RATHORE. For me, JOKER really mattered because I was assured of a good experience of making a film and learn on the job. Now that is always an important criterion. Your step in based on your intuition and then expect the director to drive his vision."
Come 31st August and we would know if the director (Shirish Kunder) has indeed done the needful.
